LOL @ myself

Wow-

What a way to start blogging. I am not all that in to politics, but I had just been reading all about the President's speech last night (couldn't bring myself to watch it).

So I was a little fired up.

Hopefully, the bulk of my posts will be much, much lighter.

How about that WoW? Actually, I am done with WoW until the next expansion. I have done everything that I wanted to do for now. And given that I have a ton of high level characters, I don't really want to do it all again.

Here is my roll-call;
Alliance
Level 80 Shaman (my light raiding toon)
Level 80 Mage (my first level 80- fun for PVE, but got pulled into playing my shammy)
Level 75 Warlock
Level 72 Warrior
Level 71 Hunter
Level 70 Rogue (my very first toon... about a week after the game came out)
Level 70 Paladin (my last toon that I got to 70- in about four days played - sick)
Level 70 Death Knight (but who doesn't have one of these to 70?)
Level 65 Druid (my bank toon- just a boring character for me)
Horde
Level 70 Warlock (a bunch of RLF got together and all created a horde toon with close to the same name - our goal was to play battlegrounds and it was a blast. Then people started dropping out and it faded away. But probably the most fun I had on WoW- we destroyed!)

I have "quit the game" or "pulled the needle out" on a few occasions. But this is the first time that I don't miss it. True, it's only been about a week or so - but I have done nearly everything in the game. Never been one to do hardcore raiding- just no patience or desire to sit there for hours on end for the chance of any kind gear upgrade.

But Lord of the Rings Online is a blast. I never thought I would say that, but it's true. I had started playing LOTRO while still in beta and kept going for the first month... soon the game had become boring and a little frustrating. There were many times that I would just drop a quest because I couldn't find where to turn it in. So back to WoW I went.

But this time, there have been numerous improvements- quest tracking integrated in the game. I love the idea of the traits. It's been great so far. I am only level 15 as of today. I don't feel the draw that I had with WoW, which may be for the better.

Time to start blogging…

First time writing a blog- where to begin?

I will start with some of my loves;

  • My family
  • MMORPG (WoW and LOTRO)
  • Computer hardware and building computers
  • RC Cars
  • Electronics
  • Conservative principals
  • Rush Limbaugh, Mark Levin, Glenn Beck
  • Drudgereport.com

Now my dislikes;

  • Rude people
  • Liberal media
  • Liberal politics
  • Illegal aliens
  • Internet trolls
  • Mushrooms

I guess that's a pretty good list to start. You can read this and make your instant conclusion about me… I don't care; it's my blog.

I believe that O is leading the country down the wrong path. I believe that he is doing damage that will be felt for years. However, I am also a firm believer that whoever is in the White House should be respected as my president.

I am losing respect quickly. Yes, I voted for McCain. Only because I did not like what Obama brought to the position. I did not care for McCain because he didn't reflect my beliefs and believe in my priorities. But Obama is so far left that there was no choice- McCain… I never seriously considered voting for a 3rd party candidate, because it is essentially throwing your vote away. Plus, if you vote for a 3rd party, you are taking a vote away from a candidate that has a better chance to get in and avoid what we are facing now.

Alright- The other thing is this- Stop providing health care and other benefits to illegals. If they are here illegally, they do not deserve the same benefits of legal citizens. I don't care if I come across racist or somehow bigoted; I am not. I love this country and I love the people of the country who come here and try their best to be good citizens. The freeloaders can go back from wherever they come from and rely on their own government.

Stop anchor-babies. It is a back door that needs to close.

Stop Czars in Washington. There is no place in the Constitution that allows for Czars to be part of any decision making process in any government office. What is happening is illegal. I don't care if it was started under Carter, Reagan, Bush I, Clinton or Bush II…. It needs to stop now. Obama has what, 35-45 Czars? And these people are heading cabinets? Crazy. These people were not properly vetted, the did not have to go through any hiring process- they were just appointed by Obama…

Ok- I need to calm down… I just sit here day after day and realize that when people say that when Obama got elected that they were witnessing history in the making. What I keep thinking about is that the history that we are witnessing is that the country is changing… When historians look back on 2009, they are going to see that this is when the country stopped being a representative republic. All of the people, who screamed relentlessly about Bush and the Patriot Act supposedly taking away their personal rights, are completely silent now because their chosen one has spoken- it must be so.

And about Bush- I think that for seven years, he was a good president. Having a Democrat controlled House and Senate, he was not able to do anything his second term. The only thing of any circumstance that was pushed through was the "stimulus" bill. What a mistake that was. There is no reason that the government should be allowing failing companies to stay in business. There is a reason that for 300 years, our economy has survived. It's market competition. So start strong arming banks into taking bailout money and level the playing field for the companies that have bad business practices… that makes sense.

And now, the bailout of Chrysler… and giving majority stake to the autoworker's union… What's going to happen to Ford and Chevy when the union members want to negotiate a new contract? You have the union that owns a majority stake in a competitor doing the negotiating. What do you think is going to happen? Strike, layoffs- Ford and Chevy going downhill… And Obama Motors becoming the de facto car company for the United States.

I am interested in seeing the twists and turns of the daily news. I am not one of these people pulling for Obama to fail. I just want him to leave the U.S. the way he found it when he because president. I want the next president to take over in about three and a half years and start moving us in the right direction. But man, oh, men the last six months have been long and brutal. I really hope we can survive as a country.
